Common Questions About Our Custom Jewelry Process

1. What types of custom jewelry can I commission?

You can commission custom bracelets, necklaces, rings, pendants, earrings, and more—crafted in sterling silver, 18k gold, or a combination of both. Whether you're looking for a personalized gift or a statement piece, we bring your vision to life.

2. How does the custom order process work?

Your journey begins with a consultation with Ned Bowman using the Custom Order Request Form, text, phone call or in person.. From there, we sketch a design ... if needed, select materials, and craft your piece by hand in our Sarasota, FL workshop. Every step is personal, professional, and highly collaborative.

3. Can I use my own gemstones or heirloom elements in a custom design?

Yes! We’re happy to incorporate your gemstones or heirloom elements into a new creation, provided they meet our structural and design requirements.  If we can not use your precious metal we can give yiu credit for the market value.Please mention this when submitting your request. 

4. Is there an initial  consultation fee?

No, initial consultations are complimentary. 

5. How much will my Custom Order project cost?

We will provide you with a written price to create your project once we have considered all factors.*

*Please note: Changes to the original design may incur additional charges.

6. Is there sales tax?

Yes, A manditory 7% sales tax will be added to the price regardless of where we ship the finished project to ... as per Florida state law. 

7. How long does a custom piece take to complete?

Custom orders typically require 3 to 6 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design. More intricate or involved pieces may take longer. Each piece is handmade with meticulous care, requiring many hours of skilled labor. We appreciate your patience as we uphold our commitment to exceptional quality.

8. Is there a deposit required to begin my project?

Yes, a 50% deposit is required to begin your custom order. Any materials you provide—such as gemstones or heirloom elements—remain your property and cannot be applied toward the deposit, with the possible exception of precious metals that we are able to use or credit toward the project. 

9. Will you notify me once my project is finished?

Yes, we will notify you that your project is completed and ready to ship. We will ask you to confirm your shipping address at this time.

10. Do I pay the final balance at the time of completion?

Yes, final payment is required prior to shipping.

11. How is the final payment calculated?

Final Balance Due = 50% of the Custom Order Price + 7% Sales Tax on the full Custom Order Price*

*Please note: The Final Balance Due includes the remaining 50% of your Custom Order Price, plus 7% sales tax calculated on the full amount. Changes to shipping policies may affect the final total.                         

12.  What are my payment options?

We can email an invoice to you via Square which you can pay privately and securly or you can call us at 941-302-9594 to make a payment over the phone.

13.  Is shipping free? 

Yes, there is no charge for shipping within the continnetal US using USPS Priority.*

*Please note: If you require other shipping options please let us know at the deposit time so we can inform you of the alternative shipping cost estimate for your approval prior to starting your project.

*Please note: We are not responsible for any customs issues or costs when shipping internationally.

14.  Is there a guarantee?

Yes, as with all the jewelry we create, there is a 100% Lifetime Guarantee on Workmanship.*

15. Can I cancel my custom order?

Yes, you may cancel your custom order by providing written notice within three (3) days of placing your 50% deposit. In this case, a full refund of your deposit will be issued within three (3) business days.
Please note: cancellations made after the three-day window are not eligible for a refund.
